Timlo Solo may look like a soup dish because the broth is clear, but people say it tastes like soto. Some of the main ingredients of this food are glass noodles, mushrooms, boiled eggs, and shredded meat, immersed in a light broth made from beef or chicken stock, garlic, and other spices. Served hot and fresh, it is usually garnished with crunchy fried shallots and eaten with sosis solo (lit. Solo sausage; a soft spring roll with chicken fillings). Timlo Solo can be found in many restaurants or food stalls. One of the most famous Timlo Solo's restaurants is Timlo Sastro, pioneered since 1952 by Mr. Sastro in Pasar Gede, Surakarta.
