Eko Pece was born in Banjarmasin on 26 November 1970. His real name is Eko Supriyanto. Eko is a dancer and choreographer. He also teaches at Institute of Indonesian Arts of Surakarta (ISI Surakarta). He started his popularity when Madonna appointed him as the dance director her 268 concerts.

One of Eko’s studios is Solo Dance Studio, a professional dance studio which was originally founded in 1995 by Girindra Natya. In 1996, Eko Pece and other five members of the company renamed it as Solo Dance Studio. The studio has collaborated with various national and international artists.
