FX. Hadi Rudyatmo, the Mayor of Surakarta inaugurated the Flag-hoisting Team, Wednesday (8/14). The inauguration was conducted at in the courtyard of the City Hall.

The team comprises members who have gone a very tight selection process. They are 58 students from around Surakarta (39 males and 19 females) and 23 military members from Brigade 413 Kostrad. In the inauguration, the team members one by one kissed the red-and-white flag as a form of their loyalty to the country and as a gratitude for being an independent nation. The Mayor hoped that all the members prepare the best for the flag-raising ceremony on 17 August. 

“You have been sworn under your religion to safeguard this nation. You have to implement all the values you have learned in this team to your daily life, either at home with your family, at school, or at our community. You need give respect to each other, ” said FX. Hadi Rudyatmo.
