The Indonesian Umbrella Festival was held again on Friday – Sunday, September 15-17, 2017. Taking place at the Pura Mangkunegaran, in harmony with the colorful life of nature. Like the beauty of a rainbow with its various colors. The depiction of Indonesia’s diversity consisting of 34 provinces, 1,128 ethnic groups, 742 regional languages, is a beauty.

With the theme of ‘Indonesian Floating’ in the Indonesian Umbrella Festival (FPI), we are knitting together a sense of national unity and unity, appreciating diversity in diversity, sheltering together under Payung Indonesia – Pancasila.

The 2017 Indonesian Umbrella Festival event was colored with various kinds of events, such as the 127 Payung Rajut Exhibition, knitting work from various cities in Indonesia: Lhokseumawe, Medan, Lampung, Tangerang, Depok, Sukabumi, Purwokerto, Kudus, Malang, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Magelang, Madiun , Bali, Surabaya, Jakarta, Boyolali, Pati, Sukoharjo, Makassar, Klaten, and Pacitan. Represent Indonesian cultural diversity. Knitting creativity of various regions in togetherness.

Umbrella photography exhibition in classical (Hindu-Buddhist) temple reliefs in Indonesia. Archaeological evidence that umbrellas existed in the past. That umbrellas have been present in the daily lives of the people of the archipelago of the past. And also an umbrella fashion show and Payung Pararupa which are masterpieces of artwork painted on umbrellas along with 28 famous painters in Indonesia.
