Joho is the name of a village in Manahan, Banjarsari sub-district, Surakarta. This village is famous because there are various murals in various corners of the village. The murals included national figures, football supporters, puppet figures, education and murals of the first president, Sukarno and Jokowi, all of which were engraved on the walls of the Joho village building. Formerly this village was not well known to the community. Thanks to the idea of a resident named Marjanto, murals and reliefs were made. These murals and reliefs are made on the walls of people’s homes, precisely in the alley entering the village. In addition, in the alley that goes into the village there is also a name written by Joho residents starting from culinary, rental house business, to culinary including meatballs, soup, noodles, chicken noodles and so on. Because of the mural, Joho’s village began to be known by many people. Surakarta City Tourism Office includes Joho village as one of the thematic village tourist destinations in urban tourism, called the Joho Mural Village. Joho villagers received various training to support Joho village as an alternative tourist destination. The training included hospitality and culinary. Besides enjoying murals and reliefs, tourists can taste various culinary there, such as Javanese noodles, herbal medicine, traditional wedang and agul-slang snacks.
