In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic that swept the world, and especially in the Surakarta City area, Indonesia really made many changes in various sectors, especially in the economic, tourism and government sectors. In the economic sector so changes the economic cycle so that it affects the income of citizens and regions. Not only has an effect on the economy, the tourism sector has also changed, but the tourism sector of the city of Surakarta in certain regions continues to run even though conditions are not as normal before the outbreak of the corona virus in Indonesia, but this does not change the name of culture. Javanese culture that still adheres strongly in the Surakarta region continues to be applied and even revived as is the application of the night watch culture with traditional kentongan tools,

Kentongan as a means of communication of ancient citizens who unite the community as a sign of something happening or a gathering or deliberation together. Besides kentongan which is a communication tool, wayang has also become one of cultural preserver who is still in the midst of the community as a cultural preserver, puppet also participates in the socialization of government regulations and health recommendations by wearing masks in the middle of the covid-19 pandemic which struck the Surakarta city area.
