The Solo Great Sale (SGS) 2020 event was opened on Sunday (2/2/2020) in the Ngarsopuro intersection, to coincide with the Car Free Day (CFD) of Surakarta City. The monthly discount event held by the Surakarta City Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) in collaboration with the Surakarta City Government was opened by the Minister of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (Menkop UKM), Teten Masduki along with the SGS 2020 committee and the Surakarta City Government ranks. In his remarks at the grand opening, Chairman of the SGS 2020 Committee, M Farid Sunarto revealed that there were 18,000 tenants in the SGS event this year, “The level of enthusiasm of the participants this year was extraordinary. From the target of 7,000 tenants who participated, now those who registered 18,000 tenants “he said. He said that this year many tenants were involved in the SGS 2020 event, not only from Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), but also from traditional markets, State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), to hospitals. “Not only from MSMEs but also from SOEs such as the Indonesian Railways (KAI), Regional Water Companies (PDAMs), State Electricity Companies (PLN) and several hospitals,” he added. The grand opening of SGS this time is different compared to last year, which was to present a parade of SGS participants’ tenants. The Kirab was attended by representatives of hotels, shopping centers, and traditional markets. In the event another matter was revealed by the Menkop UKM, Teten Masduki appealed to the public to participate in the success of the SGS 2020 event. “Let’s succeed together this SGS 2020, let’s take advantage of this discount party to boost the low-season this February, “He said.
